Domestic Violence :
Battering is a pattern of coercive control that one person exercises over another. It prevents the victim from doing as he or she wishes. Control tactics are used to place fear and intimidation in their partner.
It is a crime to physically abuse or threaten your partner.

Battering is the most common crime in the United States.
